Crew at a Glance

Bridge Runners Düsseldorf is a fun and inclusive running crew that has been building a strong community in Düsseldorf, Germany, since summer 2019. The crew was started when its founders, inspired by the Berlin running scene, decided to bring the modern run crew movement to their hometown. They are a group of "non-elites who love to train like the pros," guided by the philosophy, "Run with us – no borders, just bridges." Their free, volunteer-led training sessions are open to everyone, focusing on a weekly track workout and a Sunday long run.

Bridge Runners Düsseldorf: Building Bridges, Not Borders, in the Rhineland

In 2019, after experiencing the lively run crew culture in Berlin, Nicola and Azib were surprised that no real running crew existed in their new home of Düsseldorf. Inspired by a suggestion from a founding member of the legendary KRAFT Runners, they created a WhatsApp group and named the "Bridge Runners." The true vibe clicked during a long run with Hanniel and Holger, and in August 2019, their community's real journey began.

The philosophy of Bridge Runners Düsseldorf is to provide a tool that connects runners from all over the world, guided by the motto, "Run with us – no borders, just bridges." They are a group of non-elite runners passionate about training like pros and getting faster, showing that there is no set limit on when you can start to improve. They believe running is a team sport and love to set and reach new goals together in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

The crew's culture revolves around a consistent and structured weekly schedule that keeps the community united and motivated. Their main event is the **#trackthursday** session, held every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Düsseltal District Sports Complex (Windscheidstraße 18). This location offers parking, restrooms, and floodlights for winter training, with a designated space for bag drop. To build endurance, the crew meets for a **#longrun** on Sundays at 10:00 a.m., starting from the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke.

Bridge Runners Düsseldorf warmly invites everyone. The training is entirely free because the community is volunteer-run. If you're concerned about speed, don't worry. They have runners of all levels and offer different intensity workouts at each session. The process is simple: just show up. For the latest updates, check their Instagram.
