BXL Run Crew

Brussels, Belgium

Crew at a Glance

BXL Run Crew started in January 2018 when two friends, Camille and Tim, wanted to create something different for runners in Brussels. They call themselves a run crew, not a club, and focus on connecting people and exploring the city together. Every week, they organize runs that are open to everyone and aim to make running social and enjoyable, not just about speed or distance.

BXL Run Crew: A Crew, Not a Club, Exploring the Heart of Brussels

BXL Run Crew began with the idea that running could be more than just an individual activity. Camille and Tim wanted to bring people together, explore Brussels, and build a real sense of community. Since 2018, the group has grown into a place where runners connect with each other and the city.

BXL Run Crew does things differently from most running clubs. The main goal is to enjoy running together, talk, and discover new parts of Brussels. Camille and Tim want everyone to feel welcome and safe, no matter their background or experience. The group values respect, acceptance, and having fun.

BXL Run Crew is based in Brussels but also connects with other running groups in the city and around the world. They sometimes organize joint runs and special events with other crews. Occasionally, they go outside Brussels for trail runs in places like Flanders and the Ardennes.

Safety and group spirit are important to BXL Run Crew. Their weekly runs explore different parts of Brussels, and everyone follows the road rules and stops at red lights. No one is left behind. The pace is social, usually 9 to 10 kilometers per hour, so people can talk and enjoy running together.

Anyone who can run for about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace is welcome to join BXL Run Crew, whether you are experienced or new to running. The group is about community, not competition. Bring a friend if you like, and check their social media for details on the next run.

BXL Run Crew is one of several running groups in Brussels. Another is Trail Trash, which started in January 2020 and focuses on trail running in the forests around the city. These groups help make Brussels a lively place for runners.

BXL Run Crew often runs through central Brussels and local parks. Some favorite spots are Parc du Cinquantenaire, Bois de la Cambre, and the Sonian Forest, which has many trails for those who want to run in nature.

Brussels hosts a variety of running events and races that attract participants from all over the world. One of the most notable events is the Brussels Marathon. This annual race takes runners on a captivating journey through the city's iconic streets, passing famous landmarks such as the magnificent Grand-Place and the futuristic Atomium. The marathon showcases the beauty of Brussels while providing a fantastic platform for runners to challenge themselves.
