Bergamo Running

Bergamo Running Crew has defined the city's running culture since June 2015. Inspired by Copenhagen's modern run crew scene, founders Vittorio and Marco created a group that blends dedicated running with relaxed social gatherings, uniting people through a shared run and a cold beer.

From Copenhagen to Bergamo: The Story of a 'Run and Beer' Revolution

The idea for Bergamo Running Crew began during a run in June 2015. While running along the Venetian Walls, Vittorio shared with Marco his experience in Copenhagen: he saw runners gather for a run and share beers afterwards. This simple idea of a modern, social running format inspired them to bring it home to Bergamo.

Vittorio and Marco aimed to introduce a new running culture to Bergamo—one that moved beyond traditional clubs to focus equally on socializing and community. Their vision created a crew where runners could connect, push each other, and unwind together post-run. This "run and beer" format formed the passionate group now central to Bergamo’s running scene.

What began as a conversation now thrives as a vibrant community. Bergamo Running Crew unites diverse runners who share a passion for social sport. They have become a driving force, demonstrating that a modern running crew can thrive and build a strong network, even in a smaller city.

Bergamo Running Crew’s culture is a perfect mix of effort and reward. Group runs explore the city, followed by deserved social gatherings. Inspired by Copenhagen’s scene, their approach values the post-run connections as much as the run itself. Runners enjoying beers together reflect their modern, balanced running lifestyle.

Bergamo Running Crew welcomes any runner attracted to their blend of running and camaraderie. For weekly run details and meeting points, please connect with them through their official social media channels.

Bergamo’s iconic route, and the crew’s birthplace, is the Venetian Walls circuit: a 5-kilometer UNESCO site loop with unmatched views of Città Alta and the lower city. Other favorite routes include steep, cobblestone streets linking the two parts of the city, as well as the green park paths of Città Bassa.

Bergamo's running calendar features exciting events drawing participants from the region. Highlights include the Bergamo Half Marathon’s challenging course through both city parts and the popular Dieci Mila di Bergamo 10k, attracting many runners. The crew is a visible, energetic presence at these races.
